Cleaning Steps of Quartz Petri Dish

Generally, it goes through four steps: soaking, brushing, soaking in acid, and cleaning.
1. Soaking: New or used glassware should be soaked in clean water first to soften and dissolve attachments. Before using new glassware, it should be lightly brushed with tap water and then soaked overnight in 5% hydrochloric acid; Used glassware often contains a large amount of protein and oil, which are difficult to wash off after drying. Therefore, it should be immediately immersed in clean water for brushing after use.
2. Brushing: Place the soaked glassware in detergent water and repeatedly brush it with a soft bristled brush. Do not leave blind spots and prevent damage to the surface smoothness of the vessel. Wash and air dry the cleaned glassware, and prepare for soaking in acid.
3. Acid immersion: Acid immersion is the process of immersing the above-mentioned petri dish in a cleaning solution, also known as acid solution, to remove possible residual substances on the surface of the vessels through the strong oxidation effect of the acid solution. The soaking time should not be less than six hours, usually overnight or longer. Be careful when placing and retrieving the quartz petri dish.
4. Rinse: After brushing and soaking, the petri dish must be thoroughly rinsed with water. Whether the petri dish are washed clean after soaking directly affects the success or failure of cell culture. After hand washing and pickling, each petri dish should be repeatedly "filled with water and emptied" at least 15 times. Finally, it should be soaked and washed 2-3 times with distilled water, dried or dried, and packaged for future use.
